Our hearts go out to the devastated nation of Haiti. That country has suffered one of the worst natural disasters in modern world history. Large areas of Haiti have been completely destroyed. The number of dead is staggering, and the full number will probably never be known.

This catastrophe reminds us that anyone can fall victim to disaster at any time. The fragility of human life links us all together and erases the differences between us. Times like this show us that we are all equally vulnerable, that we are all in this world, this life, together.
